FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DENIES APPROVAL OF ADIRE AS NEW NYSC UNIFORM
July 04, 2026
The Federal Government has dismissed reports claiming that Adire has been approved as the new uniform for members of the National Youth Service Corps. The Ayodele Olawande clarified that his comments during a television interview only highlighted proposals currently being considered as part of ongoing reforms and did not amount to an official approval.
Olawande said no final decision has been made on a new NYSC uniform, adding that all proposals are still undergoing stakeholder consultations and evaluation. He explained that the ongoing reforms are focused on improving corps members' employability, promoting entrepreneurship, strengthening national integration, and making the scheme more relevant to current national needs.
