The governorship ambition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, received a boost on Saturday as the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Adesina Adeyemi-Doro, stepped down from the race in his favour.

The development came barely a week before the August 15 off-cycle governorship election and followed consultations with APGA executives across the state.

Adeyemi-Doro announced his decision during a political gathering in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, where he said his supporters and members of APGA would vote massively for Oyebamiji in the forthcoming election.

The endorsement is expected to further strengthen Oyebamiji’s campaign ahead of the keenly contested governorship poll.
