OYEBANJI TO HONOUR AFE BABALOLA, WOLE OLANIPEKUN, ABACHA, OTHERS WITH LEGACY PROJECTS

August 04, 2026

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, says his administration will honour more distinguished Ekiti personalities with legacy projects, including Aare Afe Babalola (SAN), Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) and the late former Head of State, General Sani Abacha, after inaugurating the Ayodele Fayose Lodge at the Government House in Ado Ekiti. He added that former Governor Segun Oni would also be honoured with a government facility.

Oyebanji also thanked President Bola Tinubu for his support to Ekiti, citing increased federal appointments, improved funding and key projects in the state. He praised the President for appointing Ayodele Fayose as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and urged Ekiti residents to support Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Former Governor Ayodele Fayose commended Oyebanji's inclusive leadership, describing him as a unifying leader who has promoted peace across political divides. He reaffirmed his support for President Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji and pledged to use his position as REA Chairman to expand rural electrification across Ekiti and other parts of Nigeria.
