President Bola Tinubu is expected to receive the Executive National Policing Bill for review on September 3, as the Presidency has launched a public information portal for Nigerians to submit memoranda and position papers to shape the proposed legislation before it is sent to the National Assembly.
Chief of Staff to the President and Chairman of the Presidential Working Group on the National Policing Bill, Femi Gbajabiamila, disclosed this after a meeting of the group at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He said the seven-week exercise, which began on July 27, will run until September 14, 2026.
Gbajabiamila explained that the bill package will be presented to the President on September 3 for approval before transmission to the National Assembly. He added that the final submission will include an explanatory memorandum, legal audit, implementation framework, fiscal note, validation report and other supporting documents.
