TRAFFIC FLOW RETURNS ON OYE-EKITI–ILUPEJU–KABBA ROAD AFTER EMERGENCY REPAIRS
August 28, 2026
Traffic has returned to the Oye-Ekiti–Ilupeju–Kabba road in Ekiti State following emergency palliative works carried out on a failed section of the highway.
The intervention followed days of gridlock that left several trucks and motorists stranded along the route, causing significant disruption to movement and commercial activities.
The Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, had earlier inspected the affected section and directed urgent intervention to restore access and ease the hardship faced by road users.
The Federal Government described the road as a critical economic corridor linking the South-West with the northern part of the country.
Following the emergency repairs, motorists and residents are expected to experience improved traffic flow along the affected route while further measures to address the condition of the highway are anticipated.
