ADELEKE SUMMONS SECURITY CHIEFS OVER RISING CULT KILLINGS IN OSUN
October 07, 2026
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has summoned heads of security agencies in the state to an emergency meeting over recent security breaches and killings linked to rival cult groups.
The meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, will focus on measures to stop the killings and strengthen security across the state, including preventing criminals from using forests as hideouts.
Two separate cult-related attacks in Osogbo between Friday and Sunday left two people dead and several others injured. The state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Zungura, has also ordered tactical teams to raid suspected criminal hideouts in the state capital.
