RECOVERY CONTINUES AT ONDO NAF AIRCRAFT CRASH SITE

October 07, 2026

Recovery efforts are continuing at the site of the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, with specialised equipment deployed to retrieve the submerged wreckage.

Divers have recovered some parts of the aircraft, but the swampy terrain is slowing the operation.

The ATR-42 aircraft, NAF 931, crashed on Monday while on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos. All 25 people on board, comprising five crew members and 20 passengers, were killed in the crash.

Meanwhile, the Defence Headquarters has ordered an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

Recovery operations are being conducted with the support of emergency agencies as authorities continue efforts to retrieve the remaining wreckage.
