The beneficiaries were trained in Information and Communication Technology, tailoring, hairdressing, shoemaking, catering and hospitality.

The programme was organised by the Ekiti State Office of Disability Affairs in collaboration with the Office of the Special Adviser on Special Education and Social Inclusion.

The beneficiaries were also provided with working tools and equipment, including sewing machines, salon equipment, shoemaking tools, ICT equipment and catering items, to enable them begin work in their areas of training.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Oyeniyi Adebayo, said the initiative was aimed at improving the economic participation of persons with disabilities in the state.

The Special Adviser on Special Education and Social Inclusion, Princess Adetoun Agboola, said the programme had grown from 30 participants in 2023 to 100 beneficiaries in 2026, with 10 of this year’s beneficiaries being parents of children with severe disabilities.
