October 05, 2026
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will on Tuesday brief Nigerians and key stakeholders on preparations for the 2027 general elections as the polls enter the final 100-day countdown.
The commission will hold a national stakeholders’ meeting and World Press Conference in Abuja, where INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, is expected to provide updates on the voters’ register, candidate nominations, election logistics and measures to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
The engagement will bring together political party leaders, security agencies, civil society organisations, traditional and religious leaders, youth groups, media executives and other stakeholders involved in the electoral process.
INEC said the meeting is aimed at strengthening transparency, public communication and collaboration as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
