CBN: TAXATION, INSECURITY, HIGH INTEREST RATES TOP BUSINESS CONCERNS
October 05, 2026
The Central Bank of Nigeria says high and multiple taxation, insecurity and high interest rates remain major concerns for businesses in the country.
The CBN’s latest Business Expectations Survey shows taxation recorded 67.1 points, followed by insecurity at 66.2 points and high interest rates at 64.3 points.
Despite the challenges, business confidence remained positive in September, with the Business Confidence Index standing at 13.4 points.
Firms attributed the positive outlook mainly to increased demand, economic diversification and improved access to finance.
