NIGERIA’S CRUDE OIL OUTPUT HITS SIX-YEAR HIGH IN JUNE

July 13, 2026

Nigeria's crude oil production rose to its highest level in more than six years in June 2026, with average crude output reaching 1.56 million barrels per day and total production, including condensates, climbing to 1.74 million barrels per day, according to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission.

The latest figures show Nigeria exceeded its 1.5 million barrels per day OPEC production quota for the fourth consecutive month, achieving 104 per cent of its target. The increase reflects improved operational stability and reduced crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and other disruptions.

The commission said total crude oil and condensate production increased from 1.70 million barrels per day in May to 1.74 million barrels per day in June, marking a fourth straight month of growth and reinforcing the recovery of Nigeria's upstream oil sector.
